What "availability" means in RAYVN
RAYVN has a concept known as availability, which saves time and makes managing easier.
In short, this is a criterion that is added to all elements in the account settings to either limit or expand the possibility of using content across multiple groups in your hierarchy.
If your organization has set up a hierarchy in RAYVN with subgroups and you do not understand the meaning behind the functionality, it can cause a lot of confusion.
If your account is set up without an organizational hierarchy, the term "availability" will not impact your ability to use any of your content.
The level of availability can be set for most things in your account settings and indicates if users can use the element. It does not indicate the ability to edit said element.
Levels of availability
In RAYVN, there are three levels of availability:
Local: This level is used for elements that should only be available to users in the same group as the element.
Regional: This level is used for elements that should be available to all users in the same group as the element, and all users in the subgroups below that group.
Global: This level means that the element will be available to all users in all groups of the account.
Here is an example of a "Main Group" and two subgroups called "group 2" and "group 3."
In the "Main Group," there is a user named "Anna Andersson," and that user's availability is set to "Global." This means that "Anna" can be added to teams and logs in any other group in the organization. .png?width=670&height=348&name=mceclip0%20(3).png)
From the view of the subgroup "Group 2", you will be able to see that "Anna Andersson" is available, even though she is based in the "Main Group". She cannot be administered from "Group 2", but if an admin in "Group 2" wanted to add her to one of their teams, they would be able to do so. .png?width=670&height=238&name=mceclip1%20(3).png)
Making a user available in more than one group
If you have personnel who are intended to be able to be mobilized by teams across multiple groups in your account, then selecting a higher level of availability might be a good solution.
If a user has the availability level of Regional, then they can be added to teams in their own group, or all subgroups of that group. They may also be added as individual people to logs created in those groups, without needing to be part of a team.
If a user has the availability level of Global, then they may be added to teams in all groups in the account, and they may also be added to logs from any groups in the account.
To add the user to a team in a group that they are not based in, just add them like any other user to that team and select "Save".
